How to remove write protection from USB drive or SD card

All of us have face sometimes a common problem that is write protection to the USB device or SD card. When write protection is enabled we are unable to write or delete files from sd card or USB device. It also stop you to accidentally format USB Stick or SD card. Occasionally, you will find that an sd card or USB flash drive unable to format and windows will tell you that it is write protected.
Generally we can read the files which are stored in disk but unable to delete them. Sometimes these files appears deleted but returns when we plug in USB stick or SD card again..

So Here I suggested couple of ways to remove write protection from any disk drive.

WAY-1: Remove write protection by Regedit.

Some SD card or USB drives have write protection switches. When enabled they refuse to delete files. You can remove this issue by Registry Edit.

1. In any version of windows or above window xp, Open Run.
2. Then search Regedit.exe
3. Navigate to the following key
4. Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies
5. Double-click on the WriteProtect value in the right-hand pane of Regedit.exe. Change the Value data from 1 to 0 and click OK
6. Now close the Regedit.exe window and restart your system. Now write protection is finally removed.

If you can’t find  try next way.

WAY-2: By creating a key

You can try creating a key by right-clicking in the white space in the Control folder and choosing New -> Key and carefully entering the name.

Now double-click on the new key (folder) and right-click once again and choose New -> DWORD. Name it WriteProtect and set its value to 0. Click OK, exit Regedit and reboot your computer.

WAY-3: By DiskPart.

1. Plug in USB drive.
2. Launch a command prompt.(You must open command prompt as an administrator).
3. If you don't know how to open administrator cmd, then read my previous post.
4. diskpart
5. Now type following commands.

• list disk
• select disk * (Here * is the number of your USB flash drive – use the capacity to work out which one it is)
• attributes disk clear readonly
• clean
• create partition primary
• format fs=fat32  (you can swap fat32 for ntfs as according to your need)
